Unregistered 24-07-2018 05:17 PM

Agree with the above poster.avoid this place.ppl here are selfish and politics are quite serious .turnover is pretty high too.

I did get an interview before... They took one month to interview me.. Then another another 6 months to get back to me lol...

And they just called me out of the blue...

From the comments above happy I disntnjoin

Unregistered 26-07-2018 05:00 PM

i've a very bad experience when i interviewed for a job before they merged (IE and spring). in a nutshell, it is very disorganised. i was led to "believing" that they want me and was dropped at the last round, after 4 intensive interviews.

won't recommend, even though i didn't join in the end.

Unregistered 28-07-2018 09:19 PM

Yes, I have also been to the first and second interviews. The interviewers had the arrogant vibe, and think too highly of themselves. It is better to join other stat boards.

Unregistered 28-07-2018 09:28 PM

I agree. There was a female HR interviewer in the interviewer panel. Her position was "HR business partner", but shockingly she looks v.young & speak inexperiencendly (highly likely below 30yrs old). So as to meet so called senior reps of startups/smes, i believe their ranks can be purposefully inflated to wrong extent.

lol

Hi guys, Im applying for the Global Markets section. Hows the work culture? Still political?

Wonder how long will they take to get back to me. Submitted my application 1 week ago. Typically govt agencies take 1 month to call you up after submitting your application.

But really excited about the job scope and really want to get out of my current shithole

Unregistered 18-01-2019 04:32 PM

Bad Vibes

I went for interview and the Global Markets Director was very condescending and asked intrusive questions about my children and Husband before he dropped the bomb that there was a lot of over time and travelling involved. I mentioned I was ok with it but he looked impatient. Maybe cos I was a married lady he didn’t like it

HR also asked very personal questions to me

Very arrogant workplace, very selfish and elitist people, not pro-family.

AVOID. Plenty of other opportunities that pay well and treat employees like Human. Don’t fall for a sexy-sounding job and be treated like crap:(

Unregistered 18-01-2019 07:05 PM

Should I try EDB or enterprise Singapore? If only one of the two

Unregistered 16-02-2019 03:00 PM

EDB for sure.

I agree. Top management (especially ministers) are often EDB/MAS alumni and see these two agencies as being on top of the pyramid, surpassing even ministries. When they speak, it's often "EDB and MAS should look into this further..." and hardly mention other agencies. Within the Firefly (MTI) stat boards, EDB has been the "big brother" - not surprising since its establishment pre-dates MTI itself.

Perhaps because of this mentality, MAS/EDB are very powerful and their respective parent ministries have only very nominal control over them.

Furthermore, any M&A is bound to create friction, be it "cultural" clash/"territorial" conflict etc, and ESG is not immune to it. Turnover has been high since the merger, with the new chief executive (himself an EDB alumni) "running a tight ship". The HR issue is quite acute, and it's not gone unnoticed by people up there.

They really need warm bodies right now, but I suggest those considering ESG to wait till things settle down first, before we have a clearer picture of how it's like compared to EDB.

Unregistered 18-02-2019 09:35 AM

Is there an overlap in roles between ESG and EDB?

Generally speaking in layman terms, ESG deals with SMEs while EDB deals with MNCs

Hi, may I check how accurate are these sentiments beyond hear-say, anyone that has worked or currently working in ESG can verify the culture? Thanks

Unregistered 09-09-2019 12:15 PM

seems so. know of ppl in there who joined less than 6 months are plotting to gtfo already. have previously worked with some folks from there — agree with above posters: arrogant and not much substance

there are many other orgs around that does industry devt type of work, if you’re into such roles, why not consider them instead

Unregistered 09-09-2019 03:45 PM

Unregistered 20-02-2020 07:13 PM

****ing do yourself a favour and dont join. Its worse to have a short unexplainable stint in your resume than to be more patient and take a few months more to find a proper job.

DONT JOIN.

Unregistered 20-02-2020 07:14 PM

worst stat board ever.

Unregistered 29-02-2020 07:17 PM
