Just completed interview for VP tech role in UOB. HR mentioned they are sending package for approval and will get back once its approved. Any folks here knows how long this process usually takes? Also if anyone can share the salary range for VP1 in UOB

The pay in Bulge Brackets are so much better though. And from what I observe, those who were more capable and had a choice between the two went to BBs instead of local banks.

Would you rather have a higher salary or a more relevant experience? The former leaves you with no exit opportunities and highly likely BBs are going to pay you less increment as you lose market value.

Based on what are you saying "no exit opportunities"? People in BBs are sought after by recruiters day in day out, they're considered the elites in a sense, and pay increment is so much better in BBs compared to local banks as well. There's a reason why elites are going to BBs instead of like DBS that takes in pretty much everyone lol.
Pay is better, Increment is better, Prestige is better, Future Prospects are better. Only thing is it's hard to get into.

As an investment banker, or a SWE? I don't think so. But for DBS, UOB, OCBC? sure, private degree also can.
