Once again thank you & happy to hear many more advices or insights from you/anyone.

For EY, try to get into TAS.
For Deloitte, try to get into Fin Advisory.
For PwC, try to get into Deal Advisory.
For KPMG, try to get into Deal Advisory.
Ideally, you’d want to do M&A work but if not, the next best alternative would be to get yourself internally transferred to the aforementioned arms. Generally if the role covers either valuation or debt restructuring, you’ll have a high chance to do a jump to FO/MO BB roles.
Also I’m assuming you’re an A2 now, if memory serves me right, cross-arm transfers, you’ll be restarting your pay grade back to A1. Don’t quote me on this, check with your HR.

To be honest, if you’re in a non-BB bank working in a non-quant role under depts other than S&T/Treasury/IB in the local banks, you’re all viewed the same by the high finance gatekeepers.

look at all these kids throwing words like BB
if you're not a doctor or lawyer, you're of a lower class than us. even if you're rich. money can only get you so far.

As much as this isn't a nice way to put it, this is very much true in most banks. I am in s&t, and I can't stress this enough... The MO/BO always copy us in process improvements stuff for our trades, which none of us reads. As much as it helps with efficiency and reduces human error, it adds zero value to us. That said, I defo appreciate these people catching my mistakes on bookings, and inform me of any settlement issues.

Market risk reporting role with 3 years exp should expect how much?
I feel like I’m underpaid.
I’m still drawing 3k plus
Model validation is a better career choice right?
