AHP. My first promotion was after 7 years. From JG12 to 13
And that is after i came back from studies.

4 years work
2 years study
1 more year work then promotion.

I was then determined to do well.
Became vocal, visible, take up many projects, speak up smartly during meetings.
Became team lead, promoted at 10th and 13th years of service.

Is it worth it? Not sure as my pay is bad compared to other industries.

But looking at the pay of ahp here I think im doing ok.

Current salary 8.5k. Usually 16.5mths package.
So TC 140k.

Is that good or bad? Im not sure.

But i think im happy to be promoted to JG16 and salary capped at 12k.
12k x 16.5 = 200k.

After that i will be that tang ping senior lao jiao who do wantever i want and relax.
That is my career goal haha.
Thanks for sharing. Do you know how much is the pay increment from 13 to 14? Is it a fixed quantum or percentage?

If you don't mind sharing? What happened to the previous team lead? For my section, my JG15 team lead has been here since the beginning of time more than ten years ago. Likely gonna stay here for the next 20 years, so no one can become a team lead until this JG15 retires or be promoted to higher management and move out to somewhere else.

Been telling me to be contented but when I found out how much I was lowballed and shortchanged back then by HR.. I just feel so furious.

Understand from my colleagues, sometime the increment is like 5% from 13 to 14. I not sure is that true.

I cannot rem, but it should be a %.
Moderate your expectations, its around 4-6%.

Previous team lead left.

So its a combination of being outstanding and opportunity (when previous lead left).

If i were to become hod, i will change that. That should be succession planning and each lead/HOD at most 2 cycles (2×3=6years).

JG14 to JG15 also 4-6%?

Is it really worth getting promoted?
