A self-sponsored MPH is generally not very useful, unless you are planning to switch tracks into epidemiology etc

I think no salary increments in public hospitals, since its self-sponsored..

No change in salary, career trajectory is up to yourself but you won't be spoon-fed anything if that's what you are asking.
Actually unlikely will change career trajectory since your coy already not keen to sponsor you for it...

Honestly, I haven't noticed much difference between the private and public hospitals in Singapore. The majority I've been in (I'm a long-time ill person, you know) were on a high level, and I can't even compare them with the typical western clinics. Probably salaries in private hospitals are a bit higher, but not significantly. When I lived in Australia, I frequently visited the hearing clinic near me to receive consultations. My doctor said that his salary is twice higher than those he would receive in a public hospital. Don't know if it's true tho.

if it was already given out last year, why make a big hoo-ha this year?
To give the impression the government is taking care of healthcare workers?

For my cluster.. Seems like everyone will get $4K, except for those who joined less than a year, it will be pro-rate..
