Comments and tips on upcoming IT Interview
Hi Guys, here's the story:
Currently, I'm working as a software tester in a company and my previous job, as a developer. My exposure to programming is a lot less compared to my previous job. After working here for 3 years, I decided that I want to go back to a development role.
Through a referral, I was given an interview opportunity next week for a Java EE Senior SW engineer role. The thing is, I did not highlight any Java work experience in my resume, (other than including it as one of my known skills as it was taught during poly days).
Any ideas how should I convince the interviewers that I intend to head back to a developer role? Also, how should I indicate that I am interested in the role and will put in the extra effort to learn the skills needed?
I'm also wondering why I was asked for the interview, even though I did not indicate any relevant experience. I doubt that my referral pulled any strings.
