Question on investment in Hong Kong
Question to experts in the forum
I feel like I am a victim in a Hong Kong Investment scam Have been pouring thousands into an account for CFD with leveraging in a shady Hong Kong Investment firm, got around HKD 800k. Upon withdrawal, they say the fund was frozen by the Hong Kong Monetary Board, and I'll need to pay 10% extra to the firm to pay for the taxation. From what they explained it's because i never declared my income (which if i did, they'd deduct from the fund I'm planning to withdraw i.e. the 800k). If I did, I would not need to pay for anything. Question is, if a foreigner is investing in a Hong Kong Investment Firm, do they need to pay for capital gain tax before they are able to get the money back? |
