I would suggest students to be an engineer in the workshop level. They are paid more. I know of a workshop engineer earning 10k per mth. If AFM will earn even more.
Did you join as a trainee LAE? Are u a LAE now? Recently i've seen a number of NTU/NUS engineering grads joining as senior technician in SIAEC and working their way up to LAE.

In this case, you don't need to listen everybody around because only you know what you want and how you are going to feel if you are going to do this. All types of jobs are good and everybody can have success if he is hardworking and loves his work. Your case is not exceptional, I am working for a private jet rentals company and we have our personal engineers that are taking care of the planes, I don't know exactly, but I am sure that their salaries are very high, otherwise, I have no idea how he got money for Porsche 911.

Where can I find some more feedback about the company?
