The earliest time for you to earn big money is after you join the scheme for 7~8 years. (if you are lucky)
[The big money I mention is only sgd12k+ basic hour per month]
Quality for those who wish to join lae scheme.
1) Endure
2) Prepare to be sandwiched by technician and management.
3) Daring
4) No need to be well educated but need to have basic education and HIGH IQ.
5) Prepare to die early comparing to normal people. (toxic chemical)
6) Accept all the action that you have taken n do not regret. (accept so much responsibility for 2.5k ++?)
7) Able to handle stress.
8) Super fat ass not encouraged to join. [Unless u want to slim down]
Out of all the criteria if u still can't decide, below there will be one experiment for you.
1) Get a can of used engine oil that in black colour, pour it on to your toilet, include the lid n the bowl itself. Then go n wear a stupid coverall, squat down and clean it with dry rags by your hand. After you clean all the oil stain use a torchlight n mirror inspect the toilet see whether u satisfy with the cleaning.
[ I bet for sure you will have plenty of chances to encounter this kind of job if you become a member of the scheme. This experiment is the easiest way to test whether u r fit or not. Remember in the above test u just squat at the side of the toilet to do the job. In real life of lae, alot more shittier job awaited you, be prepared to stuck your head inside the bowl or crawl like a dog inside the compartment.]

Hi,
I'm pretty unsure whether should I join SIAEC as a trainee, would like to seek your advice. I already cleared 2 interviews and going for the next one soon.
I'm thinking of joining this industry cos I heard the prospects are good, and if you have the license, you can work anywhere in the world, I have no passion or whatever in aviation. And I think I'm a rather hands on person. I have a diploma in avionics and have the relevant exemptions but SIAEC still gonna put me under the full training of 4 yrs, its called a scholarship now and the pay now is 1k flat throughout, there are no more benefits like annual increment, free tix like last time.
So they told me I'll be put under B2 training. I'm not sure what are the prospects (demand, career advancement) like for a B2 license holder. But people have told me B2 holders do not have to lie in a pool of oil looking for that oil leak at night with a torch or the situation you mentioned above; its much cleaner a jobscope. They only do wiring, replace units, more senang but same pay. So B2 lae jobs is actually good ?
I'm also doing an aerospace systems degree in unisim, is it recognised by the aviation industries, or do they only take in those elite degrees from NTU aerospace. Is it a wise choice to finish my degree and be a white collar engineer or better off being an LAE because most lae don't have a degree but they take in around the same pay with paid OT. I heard engineers 'ot' are unpaid.
Regardless of which path I take, do all those qualifications and experience put me ahead of others if I leave the MRO industries and try to be an SIA pilot ?
Thanks aplenty !

1) I sincerely advice u not to join ...
2)Bro I am a B2 license holder, it is not true that it is a cleaner job, I ask u, which area of the aircraft not powered or control by electrical wires, flap, slats, oil pump, wheel well, wheels, gears .... and u expect this area to be oil free, dirt free. In order to access these system to do wiring chk, u still hav to climb, crawl, lie down ... u name it. And they dun give a damn day or night, got defect, pls do!
I sincerely advice u not to join...
3) I advice u to take a degree as me and my peers are stuck, we are now trying ways to complete a degree as LAE(running shift how to study part time??) now no prospect, no money(now cutting cost, the shift pattern already so disgusting, if u still wanna/can come back for OT, u are a robot!), no life(eat, sleep, wake up work,.. All this without OT, jus normal shift), no friends(eat, sleep, work), if u still havent found a galfren(all males environment, unless u like same sex...), then be prepared to buy a foreign bride(where got time to dating, cabin crew also see u no up).
I sincerely advice u not to join...
4) Being a LAE does not give u the advantage, in fact u hav to complete the bond or resign from SIAEC then apply for pilot...
Go get a degree and take up pilot direct, u wanna drive ferrari or repair ferrari...???
5) Money is good for those senior LAE, now the newer ones hav to suffer due to worst shift pattern(keep changing new shift pattern to squeeze u dry), cheaper better faster, shortage of manpower, equipment, resources....
My peers LAE keep asking one another is it our karma or we did something very bad in our past life, if not why we end up here, wanna leave still got 2 more years of bond...
6) I wasted 10mins of my precious off day to give u a sincere advice, asking u not to join so u will not suffer like us, if u insist, then u also maybe have a bad karma like us...
I sincerely advice u not to join...

help concerning LAE life
hi,
is there anyone who went for the interview at SIAEC for an LAE job?
Could you kindly tell me what sort of question they ask and whether they are looking for anything in particular?
Im thinking of applying after i finished with my NS. its either SIAEC or SAESL.
trainee pay wise looks the same for like 2 or 3 years.
Anyone know how this two differ in working enviroment and advancement?
if there are any kind souls out there drop me an email or something at [email protected].

Lae job in singapore
HI ALL
I am a LAE in singapore airlines engineering company. I have to agree with most lae here.its bad karma.Even though i joined before all the benefits are removed.come on guys what free ticket. do you know what you mean by subload its like you bring your family to airport and make them wait as beggars for a free seat. worse after you are inside the plane you are offloaded as the paying passenger came or worse stuck in overseas station due to no free seat. i dont call this benefit added humiliation infront of your loved ones. The pay is so little and license allowance now is 1500sgd thats the max you get after 6 years and you start with 450. your take home pay after training is 1900 after 6 years as lae you will get 4000.dont count over time as its already trimmed nowadays even with those. you barely touch 5000dollars. i know my friends who joined semiconductor industry after diploma get 5000dollars after 6 years. less stressful environment.
if the new trainees are going to be paid 1000sgd i dont think any bright students gona join the company.so you know who are your mates.
what i m doing there serving my bond too 6 months to go.after that i rather move to overseas and earn lot of money but with more stress.but i can atleast get paid for what i "fcuked"

Hi everyone,
I am interested in becoming a LAE in the AMM sector. I would like to apply for the Trainee LAE by either SIAEC or SASCO. Which company is better? SIAEC or SASCO? or any other company that take in TLAE?
I particularly would like to work with SIA plane. I have seen from forum that SIAEC LAE deals with other airlines.. only SIA LAE deals with SQ plane. Got 2 different company: SIA and SIAEC?? aren't they the same?
Questions that I would like to ask fellow LAEs:
1. What is the trainee allowance for SIAEC and SASCO?
2. Which company is better in term of job prospect and pay after graduating as a LAE.
3. What aircraft rating would I get? Can I choose? or they assign you?
4. I can only be offer Cat B2? (Diploma in Electronics & Computer Eng. - AE Option)
Can I choose Cat B1?
Thanks alot.
4.

sighs
wish i had the fortune to read this forum before i joined......
now it's too late. stuck like most of the LAEs/Trainees here.
ALWAYS remember this - after signing the bond, you CANNOT quit. no matter how much you hate the job, the company, the environment, the people around you...you CANNOT quit (if you can't afford to pay the penalty).
can you imagine the feeling of waking up everyday and going to work.... knowing how much you HATE it but CANNOT quit? FOR 2,920 days???
