They might promote you to Senior tech or supervisory role depending on your years of experience. For my company, that's usually the case and some lucky ones are invited to apply for engineer position. However, end of the day,Having a degree/masters/diploma is just a paper certificate. You must be able to have other essential skills too.

long story short.
self starter = company not obliged to send you for type course. meaning to say self starter has to depend on your work performance or if you have any "connections"
trainee engineer program = type course is included in the training program but have to sign a lengthy bond

Hmm that's the problem with singaporeans in the aviation sector. They only thought that LAE is the only way to go. You can work in other companies and earn more than LAE. I will not mention which company I'm from but I'm paid reasonable well as a Approval Holder. Plus I'm getting the benefits of from the SIA engineers union which matches my payscale with LAEs in there. So yeah, maybe you might want to consider looking at other job roles too such as Technical Service,Repair Engineers,Approval holders etc.

Well end of the day it will still depend on the person taking the paper. I honestly coach some of the poly students and interns on their caas papers. They will just blindly memorize all the answers 🤣.
Maybe you want to try selling your services at carousell?I saw some ppl selling QB.
