Advice Please
Greetings guys,
I am currently 24 yrs old, and by the time I ORD, I'm @ 25.
I have a place in NTU Computer Science which will probably takes me 3.5 years to complete and by then I am 29.
I have two choices in my mind and i hope to get some advice from you guys
1) Start work immediately after I ORD and take part-time degree along the way as well as gain some experience.
2) Enroll in NTU(which I am not very confident of as I know myself, I'm an average performer who made it to NTU through sheer hard-work). Probably a third class or MAYBE 2nd lower.
I appreciate all sincere advice as I have less than a month to make a decision.

assuming you hold a diploma right now, your starting pay will be very low, and even after you complete your private degree, you may or may not get a pay raise from the same employer. If you change job then, your pay raise may not be high either (may not be recognised if in public sector)
NTU is a good name and computer science is a great course and your skillsets will be in demand when you graduate (= higher pay). you shld enrol in NTU. If you're concerned with financial issues, you can always do part time work such as giving tuition, doing IT jobs/internships during vacations etc in companies you hope to join in future and you will stand a much better chance of getting a perm job offer there when you grad (whose starting pay could be even higher than if you go through the other route and get your private degree)
1 thing i learned from my uni journey is that the most impt thing is the skillsets and knowledge you pick up from there and not the grades.

Have you explore the idea of working part-time while studying full time...it can be taxing...but once you completed it, shiok ah!
I studied full time degree, while distance study for a second degree and worked full time...heng heng managed to find a job that allows me to work the night shift...very song initially and stressed out by the various assignments etc...but when I completed n graduated from both my double degrees...Shiok Ah!
Then I move on to a MSc...supposedly two yrs but I managed to shortcut it and graduated in one year!
All about gd time mgt, setting task target achievment rate etc...and training yourself...stress test your brains...
Looking back now...I am extremely glad for all the hardwork and time invested...Go for it...
