fass degree pass with merit
hi ppl, i will be entering this cse this sem. If let say i major in econs, and graduate without honours, does any of the ministries or stat board hire such graduate? if yes, what will the salary range be? some extra infor, i was a poly grad previously.

It is not that the civil service disregard graduates without honours but because there are simply too many job applicants with stellar results and qualifications.
There was an occasion when I published a job opening on career@gov and there were 72 applications. The most practical thing for me to do is to consider only those with 2nd Upper & above as well as those with special recommendations. Eventually, I interviewed 12 candidates over 2 afternoons and I already find it quite draining. The rest, especially those distance learning & external degrees, won't even get close.

it's sad really that opportunity given is based on qualifications.. doesn't mean your theoretical skills are any better than those who thrive on other aspects that are equally important in a workplace environment, i.e : EQ. but its true that it does make the sorting process easier if you were to go by qualifications alone

true my friend who recruits for another ministry say, her database will explode with so many applications. she will pick and choose based on qualifications, and the rest will automatic see rejection e-mail

try foriegn bank/MNCs
i graduate last year with only a merit, no honors from my business degree.
Earning 55k sgd pa.
