Default Part-time Higher NITEC in Electrical Engineering (Advice Needed)

Hello everyone,

I am interested in the part-time Higher NITEC in Electrical Engineering.

However, I am concerned I might be lacking the maths/physics foundation for the course(C6 for E maths and B3 for Combined Science at 'O' Levels).

Tried contacting ITE HQ but they were not very helpful, just told me no maths involved. Find it a little hard to believe an Electrical Engineering course has no maths involved.

What are the maths and physics topics/concepts covered in this course?

Please advise.

Thank you.

Why do C6 for e maths and B3 for combined science not let you get into NITEC engineering?

I got C5 for emaths, C6 for combined science (biology and chemistry) and I got a diploma in electronics.

I even got a Degree in electronics 2 years ago and working in Electrical field now.

TBH, maths is VERY necessary is engineering. Fourier transform, transfer functions, forces, etc all are maths.

When I was studying in poly, engineering mathematics is actually A maths and I can cope. So do not worry and follow your heart.

As long as you have the passion, you will be able to do it.

I agree with Aneano, why don't become an electrician instead? I studied that and it helped me a lot, now I can do all electrical repairs at home, and that makes me save a lot of money! I even changed to solar powered with Renogy products, check them out at this website, besides, electricians are well paid and there's always work for us to do.
