Anyone still studying/taking a degree in your late 20s?
 

Anyone still studying or taking a degree in your late 20s? especially for females? Are you doing it to change a career path and is it worth it?

I know of a close male friend who entered NUS Engineering (1st ) degree FULLTIME at age of 29. He was formerly from poly and had worked for a few years. He is happy with his job in a MNC now, paying way above his poly classmates who did not advance (in their education).

It's never too late to study, or broaden your knowledge.

As for if it is worth it or not, you may like to ask what' the objective?
1) To be rich fastest, spend the to beautify yourself and then snag a 'golden turtle'.
2) To earn more $$$ fast by yourself legally, then consider jobs in the insurance or housing industry. [Sales type. Must learn how to "smoke".]

As for change of career path, reality check is required.
E.g.: if you had diploma in Mass-Comm, and now want to take degree in Accounting->CPA, be aware that the starting pay/rank is entry level. Thus, if your last drawn is S$3K, then prepared to start all over (in your new career) as entry level ($2K). Are you prepared?

Starting Bachelor degree at late 20s is not uncommon, especially for those who have diplomas and have hit their job advancement ceiling.

Starting a Masters degree after working a few years is very common. Some do it to advance in their careers, some for career change, some take sponsorships to take a break from work.

Better later than never.
 

I graduated from local poly in 2005. ORDed in 2007.
I'm 27 this year.
Currently, taking part-time degree at SIM (UOL, Econs and Finance). Started in July 2011.

I'll be 30 or 31 by the time i graduate. Yeah! i know, it's kind of late to be a degree holder by age 30 or 31 but hey you're never to old to study.

Just tink of the consequences of not doing so... these days it's not just the women who wants a financially-able partner... the men also want a partner who can help with the household expenses.. so the knife cuts both ways... Somemore with the influx of prettier and more obliging women especially from china into singapore.. We singaporean women must buck up and improve ourselves to remain competitive.. Must have both brains and beauty these days... Itz a cruel world.. Dun be complacent now and become helpless and regretful in the future... I have seen too many living examples so i know what i'm talking about ladies... Good luck..

I intend to be studying all my life. Whenever I have excess money, I spend it on education. It's never an advantage to know less. With luck, I will be pursuing degrees or masters well into my 50's!

i don't pay people to teach me. i just use google.

Not everything you find on the internet is accurate.... Some people post rubbish and inaccurate facts and cannot be used... anyway, people won't take you seriously if you are not educated lah.. There's no such thing as being over-educated in singapore..

You haven't seen the profit-driven education industry here.
