New Employer asked for CPF statement
Hi,
I will like to understand is it common these days for new employer to ask for your past 12 months CPF statement on top of the previous payslip after they have confirm the hiring before signing appointment letter?
Do we have the right to reject that? And anyone knows why is employer asking for past CPF statement if the previous pay is more than $5k?

Is the employer a bank or financial institution?
Some do request for it to cross-check your employment tenure in your CV is genuine. I was once asked to provide past 5 years of CPF statements so I believe some employers just wanna be extra careful.

No, is a non bank MNC. I guess so too. The only thing they could see is the ex employer and last contribution date.
Thank you for your reply.

Too many instances of inflated salaries and this has embarassed the HR.
Makes them look lazy and naive.
