After I / MX11A, will be stuck and depends on availability of higher opening.
Once reached I, you can either wait for opps in current agency or leave for other roles. I know a few senior ppl who left for tech companies like FireEye, Amazon, Grab, etc...

I is mx11a? I thought I is mx10.
i left govtech to join a SB (on transfer scheme), this is what the HR told me.
was a grade I in govtech and placed in mx10 in my current agency

Perhaps they placed you 1 grade higher since a direct mapping from Grade I to MX11A will result in a pay cut. The pay diff from technical scheme to generalist scheme is quite large.

hmm.. not too sure, but still a basic pay cut for me but slight increase in the overall package
was drawing 9.2k in GovTech while now 8.5k

The headcount is correct as well.
I was referring to when you get first hired in GovTech.
If you are from a reputable company like maang and you have relevant experience, most likely you will get perm.

Imagine they placed you on MX11A, maybe your monthly pay reduced from 9.2k to 7k.
