Scholar system don't work anymore. It is now control by powerful family and Nerds who think they know better.

History already taught us yet we repeat the cycle.

The whole indeed saga sounds so sketchy. Firstly they got mass hired and now govtech is adopting what seems like a worse appraisal system from them. How did this even happen

It's probably to justify the hiring in the first place. When they were absorbed one of them came in as a director. Probably part of it is to show how they can bring in the goodies from Indeed.

no one cares. techies glory days are past. only reason they are put on a pedestal is cos of daft silicon valley VCs and 0 interest rates.

future is to get outsourced to cheap cheap countries or supplanted by indians n pinoy coders. swes are now basically modern day car mechanics or mech engineers. dime a dozen.

just quietly build products for us and let the rest of us enjoy conveniences.

Don’t leave in the past. Interest rate is going down. China is doing QE. Bitcoin is going up. Hot money is just building up. It’s just a matter of time before a labour crunch hits SV and world wide. The downturn is to filter out the weak, undetermined and unfortunate. If you are good, you will get rewarded. Chin up all the SWEs!!

The Peasant System continues to work and life goes on with or without scholars.

That's the reality.

The scholar system is meant to fast track the stars and there will be a few lightning rods.

So long as the Peasants do their part, peace and prosperity prevails.

this comment is even more guilty of living in the past lol

tech isn't going away but the cushy packages and ez jobs for singaporean swes certainly are. we're undeniably too expensive compared to the rising talents in our regional neighbours.

it's simply a re-correction to pre 2010s state of affairs when programmers were simply seen as a boring utilitarian technical job. think NCS and ST Eng.

Well, the customer expectations have been shifted drastically. Let’s just go to those poorly designed, built and maintained government websites and find bugs. Remember to report to someone senior in government about the bugs. Let’s see how many of them are under NCS/ST. lol.
