Means kenna lowballed and HR is happy too.
If the senior ask for fried rice with hotdog, why should the HR provide fried rice with foie gras?

Relax people. Maybe they should refocus to retain current folks instead of hiring new ones to replace those who left.
To be honest lah, am a junior but can understand lah who will not feel in inbalance if juniors are drawing salary higher than seniors after joining few years only.
And I don’t see how lvling 2% for everybody will change anything so don’t put too much hope lah.

that is the thing now...
Currently mid-senior employee drawing 6k now, doesn't get retained.
HR can do the following
Hiring another mid-senior around the same salary which is 6k or they need to pay 20-40% more than 6k.

Not to mentioned Junior tends to jump ship after 1-2 yrs when they got better offer outside, then seniors have to train again and again!
In the end, pay lower than junior! Nice one...
