Worked in GAI for over 2 years. the department head Noah Lim was one of the sleazeast bosses I've ever had. He made his longest staying staff change their marriage leave to vacation leave because off them had too many days of leave and are being calculative. He threatened to take away work from home privileges if we used any off in lieu days we got from public holidays falling on Saturdays. He had a falling out with one of his staff and made them take no pay leave until their contract ended because he didn't want to raise any attention by "firing" them. He has a strong preference for working with female staff, which decided task distribution. Performance bonuses seem to be based more on personal favoritism than transparent evaluation criteria. There is no structured performance review process or feedback provided to staff. HR usually side with the professors in NUS so there wasn't any point trying in whistleblowing.
