he's saying that some new scheme E6 get offered 4.6k - 5.6k with 5-8 years experience. i personally have seen E6 with 7 years exp get offered more than 5k. So your current salary of 4.2k at E6 with 5 years exp, you may be shortchanged

Yours is abit on the low side. I myself and a few colleagues drawing around 5k+/-. Around the same number years of experience.

I have 1.5 years exp before joining ST. Getting pay at 2.9k.
ST offered me 3.3k when I join 3 years ago. I recently left ST this year just before covid.

Last drawn new scheme pay is 4k.
I got a better offer at ncs 4.2k only to find out fresh grad is offered the 4.2k package.
I'm technically 4.5 years exp.

I think I screwed up by accepting too low entry level pay. Now I'm just on par with fresh grad.

Under the old scheme, I got this info :
E5 2300 to 4000
E6 4000 to 5500
M1 4500 to 6000
M2 5280 to 8250
M3 6000 to 9000
M4 8000 to 11200

I was an E6 for 7 good years until I threw in the towel due to a crazy manager...

Old scheme fresh grad market salary asking + HR guideline is already 3.6k++
So new scheme for the old fresh grad is already 4.2k++

Now MOM new guideline that employment pass need min 3.9k, this move ultimately push all the fresh grad asking starting pay to > 3.9k liao (which they complain is low cause newspaper publish fresh grad getting 4.5k liao).

But this new scheme no aws. I heard bonus is like 0.5 months... so in total annual fresh grad is ~57.5k...

I was 3.4 3 years ago. Got around 4.5 since last July with E5...
Not too bad for my case since got all the scheme benefits.
But still looked quite bad if fresh grad are having salary mentioned above.

Not sure about where you heard about 0.5 months.
I know a couple of fresh grad on my end got prorated 1.5 months bonus depending on how long they served in 2019.
Got slightly above 3 months for my case under this new scheme.

My side is everyone got base salary x2 /12 into the base salary. So that x2 is AWS and min 1 month bonus.

Old scheme people usually get 1 aws. 1.5 months at least up to 3 months.

This sounds like the ST I know. Most of the managers all power hungry stay for 10 to 20 years all eyeing for the top spot. Very political one. My current new manager is like that. Not bad le 4.9k E6. I 4.2k E6 only.

From what I gather in this forum. The new scheme got two type depending on which company you belong to.

Type 1: formula is x2 / 12 into base. No aws. Bonus have been reduced by 1 month.
Type 2: formula is x1 / 12 into base. No aws. Bonus remains at least 1 month above.

Other kor kor out there can confirm mah? My company is type 1. The boss all say the same thing. The bonus already inside base.... Same thing. Last time see big bonus happy. Now bonus already inside monthly. So see low bonus sad.

Our side the practise is performance bonus is confirmed 1+xxx the xxx is the actual bonus which is usually just 0.5 months or 1 months.

so total is
aws = 1 month
bonus = 1 month confirm
xxx = the actual bonus (0.5 to 1 months)

so ppl causally just say 2 to 3 months bonus.

x2/12 work 1 year you see. "YOU ARE AWARDED WITH 0.5 MONTHS BONUS"
x1/12 work 1 year you see. "YOU ARE AWARDED WITH 1.5 MONTHS BONUS"

Those having same grades as previous year bonus reduced by around 0.5-1 month

There's a huge gap between the bonus for contract and perm staff.

pay freeze for year 2020

2017 - joined as E6 contract staff, 4.3k
2018 - convert to perm with promotion to M1. 1mth bonus. 4.9k
2019 - 5.9k , 3+mths bonus.
