Would suggest you to leave the company. The progression is really quite bad 8 junior years only one promotion and each increment is less than 5%.
Anyway year 2014 and 2015, there is an error. Probably is 3,674 instead of 3,574.

Unregistered 15-05-2020 01:24 PM

8 years 4.8k sounds about right.
BTW I'm 10 years working experience but only 4 heads with ST.
New scheme now only 5.2k E6.

This new dude 5.4k 5 years is what divisuon? Better not be transport

What is the estimated pay for M1 and M2 of this "suck up to boss" guy.
By the way, annual bonus roughly how man months?

Outsource is capped to 1 month. Most likely will get 0.5 only.
Perm staff still can go up to 2 months. But most likely 1month to 1.5 months.

New scheme I dunno.
Old scheme. M1 is 5k ~ 6k
M2 US 6k ~ 7k

If looking at the base only yes it's really low. But you got aws and bonus and stock and national day bonus....

True. I'm not complaining about my old scheme it's the new scheme I have issue with. 4.8k and 5.4k is a huge difference

Feels bad for you bro. And the new comer feels 5.4k is low ball.

Would a large government linked company like ST ask employees to leave or chop headcounts during this kind of bad economy period? Did it happen in the 2007-2008 financial crisis?

ST full of outsource staff for this reason. Anything just don't renew contract.
Perm staff their job are secure. The way they make perm staff leave is also long and tedious .... give low increment for the perm staff to resign him/herself...

But those who CMI and have decided to work for ST for life low increment or not also dun care haha so end up with lots of below average under performing perm staff... while they hire outsource talent to fill in the gaps.

what a joke this company.

And M1 you got 18 annual leaves.

You want to compare that to 4.8k new scheme vs your 5.7k
15 days annual leave vs 18 days.

This is exactly the nonsense perm staff attitude I'm talking about.

Unregistered 16-05-2020 07:58 PM

Is there job stability for perm staff during this covid period? How about for contract staff?

The tea breaks from 10 to 10:30 and 3 to 3:30. Those ST ppl should know this jiak liao bee culture within, which is why pay tends to be lower than market rate.

Clearly u are not a ST employee or u would know that ST electronics and ST kinetics are different. Just as ST aerospace and ST land are different.

This thread is ST electronics. So wake up your google-i-copy-pasta-like-i-know-**** idea.

Lies. I joined DSTA as fresh grad in 2018 was offered 3.9k only but higher than my peers who are getting around 3.6k that was the market salary.

Did the starting pay increase by 1k over 2 years? Yikes.

As former ST employee, I do admit it's quite slack like a "SAF retirement home". Don't blame employees, blame the culture that inculcates the behavior in the first place.

Retirement home good meh?

If so good, you also won't be former ST employee loh. Btw which company u join now? Is it better out there? I see alot of people who left ST came back and rejoin ST few years later..

Kinda embarassing.

I joined Accenture for higher pay. Workload is more since its consulting, but it's better than wasting my life away like those retired enciks. Those who return to ST usually can't adapt to fast pace outside as they think everywhere can sit in office, talk cock and collect salary.

The important thing is to take on a non-stressful job, collect salary, save and invest aggressively. Earn high passive income, retire early.

I wasted 8 years in this company, thinking of going outside. currently M1 been stuck in this title for 4 years with no progression.

Why doesn’t ST follow pay structure of CS more closely?

Because they are GLC and SI (system integrator). Similar to NCS, pay peanuts get monkeys.
