All the best to those getting their payouts! By the way, I'm curious about the culture in MAS! Can anyone inside share in detail how is it like? Is it extremely stressful or fast paced etc

I know bc even though i got into UCLA, my boss said i don't meet the requirement for sponsorship.. She said a master's degree is not required for work. She also told me that i have to work for 3 years and get "very good" for appraisal, then i got to write a note to justify why this degree is necessary and prove that mas need to wait for me to study and cannot easily hire from the market. I think it's impossible to get sponsorship, bc im not indispensable what.
Secondments to other organisations seem to be sourced by the individual. Ala if you have connections, HR will be more than happy to let you take no pay leave for secondment.
Both mid career and graduate officers are unlikely to get into the good opportunities. Those are reserved for MAS scholars la.

How is the process like for transfer of dept? Do u have to start from stretch such as writing test, interview then offer? What happens if the dept u applying to did not accept yr application?

Well it depends on whether its a graduate or a mid level. May I ask why do you ask this? Did you not get your department of your choice?

I heard there is still interviews but no writing test again. I had a colleague that didn't get in at first bc the dept wanted the external hire with more experience, but told the colleague that they will consider her for future vacancies. And 4 months later someone else transferred out so there was vacancy and the div head ask if the colleague is still interested, and so she came.

No, just curious to find out. Because was thinking if transfer was unsuccessful, it might affect career in the current dept esp if yr bosses are aware that you have intention to leave the department.

Thanks for sharing! Can I ask, for most Graduate Officers, if you stay long enough, which rank will you eventually reach? DD? Will there be chances of being D? And for scholarships, is it tough to get `very good' for appraisal, and for scholarships must you be first class or completely depending on job performance and degree relevance!
