MAS for Mid Career Professionals

Oh, absolutely, it's completely sustainable for senior Management at MAS to jet off in business class while preaching about green practices. I mean, who needs virtual meetings when you can enjoy the luxury of a lie-flat seat and a glass of champagne, right? It's not like they're setting a double standard or anything.

But then again, do you expect overseas for normal officers to be a norm?? MAS is about building up the MASB..that's the norm. Overseas trips is for people or "elites" getting posted overseas (not that many places anyway)....or if you are luckily bloodily blue-eyed enough to be sent on a conference by your boss....

So I don't quite get what the gripe here is about....

Oh, it’s completely reasonable that normal officers barely had any opportunities for overseas training to start with, and now those are being slashed even further. I mean, who needs professional development when senior management can use that budget for additional overseas trips for themselves? Sounds like a perfectly fair and logical decision.

Not surprising, friends i know are saying that govt having huge hiring freeze (dunno about cuts tho) so I won't be surprised if applications get "rejected". It is a known practice for HR to keep posting jobs so that it seems that company is expanding, but in actual fact they may not be. Or could be the fact that they are catering to internal transfers first/ or converting those contractuals.
