Genuinely curious but if you're not happy with MAS' salary why spend time on this specific page? Seems like you're just making yourself feel worse...
I think poster is not-not happy about the salary, probably more the employability

This happens to me a lot of time. When you are sure something should be done this way and then your stubborn boss say no and ask u to do another way instead, only to be shot down by the bigger boss who wants it done your original way. damn du lan leh, end up is waste your time...any advice? This is a very strong push factor for me..

And the way he/she say no is as if you propose something damn stupid. Sometimes i doubt myself, only to feel slightly better when the bigger boss think the same way as you. But then your bigger boss won't because you floated your boss idea up.

Chill bro. I assume u referring to tl or div hd. A lot of times these layers don't know wtf they want but they pretend that they do. So don't be demoralized. know your worth. Its just a job. Act blur, dont bother proposing something thinking it is for the greater good. just give them wtf they want.

It’s wasting so many peoples’ time for something which are unnecessary.
The time wasted may not be able to meet the objective on time and can be used to channel to other more efficient things.

Bro, you haven't met the situation where after one year plus of clearing TL, Div Head, Dept Head, AMD, and DMD, it got presented to some management committee where they just decided not to carry on with the whole project.

It's freaking sian la (or maybe not if you personally did not see value in the project) but ultimately, just tell yourself that this is just a job and you got paid for it. That the project did not come to fruition is the decision of some higher-ups.

Btw, this happens VERY frequently in other government agencies too. I think its even worse in some of them.

In fact, private sector also has a lot of these issues. Basically new management team decides to go in a certain direction and discards all the work you have been doing.

But these issues are more prominent in public sector because crafting public policy is much more subjective than being a profit-driven company.

Maybe can try just arranging early check-in or discussion with the bigger boss. Even if it is jumping over the smaller boss if they die die refuse and keep guessing wrongly.

A lot of TLs and div hds are like that. Don't give a f too much. It's not about what is truly beneficial or objectively good for the organization or to the public. It's "who's agenda is it anyway?". You should go w whatever the fk the highest authority wants, because ultimately it will come to that. But go along w the proper chain of command. Because if you know the 2nd command wants your idea but your immediate doesn't want, you bypass your immediate, you will get marked. It's who licks who's ass.

No choice, MAS = Must Act Stupid, if you wanna survive here.

Whack them in EES lor. Your KPI is to get things done as instructed, or else get lower bonus. Their KPI is to guess correctly and get a higher salary, and yet they keep guessing it wrongly. Shouldn't they be penalised like you?
