What I heard is DSTA > CSIT > DSO in starting pays. Progression wise not sure.

I'm surprised DSO pays the lowest when it seems to be the organization hardest to get into.

I think the earlier figures are correct but outdated.For the more recent hires, I believe there was some pay revision in the last few years, at least the starting pay did get increased by about 300. Maybe that's why the pay for PM is much closer to 6k now.

the last i heard 1st class with ns is $3880 in 2007-2009, that mean now is $4180 already for fresh grad?

Anyone knows about the career progression in dsta? Yes starting pay is good, but my friend who is doing internship there says the people there are mostly early thirties and twenties. Really have no idea where most people beyond age 35 goes to.
Do they move on to private? Or do they go into other ministries or stat board to do managerial role? Or is there an existence of something ultra classifed where experienced researcher and engineers from dsta head to?
Also wondering, are there more engineers in DSTA or more scientist? If i'm doing physics in local uni, can i go DSTA/ DSO ?
