I share my own exp, for those interested in joining, make ur own judgement.
1. Work super lepak. Suka suka come late, wait 5pm bus go home, if boss not around go home earlier. Look around HQ, office always empty, looks like nobody working one.
2. "force multiplier"? Nothing but a waste of tax payer money. Boss buy off the shelf solution and beg home team departments (HTD) to use. Most HTD smart, know the tech is quite **** so don't want to use. But boss can still smoke his way to higher up to pretend that work is being done. Truthfully, I just see sweet taxpayer money go to waste on stupid solutions or "experiments" that will never work. HTX formed as the S&T expert in MHA, but I don't see people really consulting us on anything. What happens is we just cook up some project to show that we are doing something. From my department at least, I don't see any of the work being really used my HTDs. In fact, we are force dividers, cos we kajiao HTDs and slow down their process LOL. They ownself liaise with contractors get the work done faster.
3. The movement towards in-house solution is a complete joke. The bosses are completely clueless on basic development work. Heard new "AI movement" completely failing. Clueless from top to bottom. No one knows whats going on. But hey, articles published on Linkedin and Straits Times, we must be doing well!
4. On promotion etc - You angkat bola will promote. You do stupid project and showcase it (visiblity), you will get better grade. You laugh at your boss stupid joke, you will promote. You act hardworking, look sweaty and anxious and use corporate lingo, you will promote. You participate in lame HTX-wide events that have completely 0 value add to society, you will promote.

Hi,
Can I check how much of HTX AI development work is outsourced? Also, what is the exposure for travelling to tech conference for exposure?
