No MA are not Scholars.
Scholars (Tier 1):
1. Very good academic results (meaning, write exam paper / do projects, with very good results)
2. Very good non- academic results (meaning, do extra extra things outside of studies to show "leadership" skills)

MA (Tier 2):

Farmer (Tier 3):

2. Ok non- academic results (meaning, do things outside of studies to show "leadership" skills, but some don't have)
3. Ok at talking/ self-selling (meaning, ok at interviews and marketing one's self)
Both Scholars and MA at hiring got no concrete evidence that will perform or be better than a farmer, but they are looked upon to be elite (Common reasoning - "Can be your future boss, so thread with care"). Therefore, they are pressured to perform well or at least fake it till make it. But due to title and pathway provided for them to "succeed", easier to FITMI.

Some departments are chill, but Forensics? Not so much. There's this one person, a real power-tripping bully. Unfortunately she is quite well protected so if you want to make it through, you might have to play nice and pretend to be his/her friend. Everyone is doing it just to survive.

Seriously is there a need to hire/look for so much AI talent? Actually the list of projects bio metric and cyborg cockroach are develop from stretch by AI practitioners/engineers or actually partially tapping on exist technologies. Kinda of hard to justify what level could these pool contribute in terms of state of the art as compared to ordinary engineers. Or these are just PMTs who manage contractors to ensure they deliver, which any engineering background could even do it.
It's very questionable if the management realli knows about AI, the limitations and level of maturity , or actually most of the project are just ML for the moment.

Two Schools
There are two type of thinking
1) Stay in comfort zone - until rot and then the Organizationwill say thank you and we do not need you anymore.
2) Looking for challenges - tough life but will keep on leaning new skills . Need not look for mercy from the Organization. Can move on when the time is right.
Depend on indivduals really. No right or wrong
