For careers@gov application, they usually indicate that shortlisted candidates will be informed 4 weeks from date of application. Since that is far exceeded in your case, pls assume no interest and move on. They usually don’t bother to update application status.

AHH okay. Tha application is close on 5th Aug 2024. So I assume if by 5th sep I nvr heard any news from the HR , this mean that I got rejected .

Apologies, it could be 4 weeks from closing date. But the earlier view still holds. Imagine you’re the HR or hiring department, if you see application from a candidate you really like cos they really meet the requirements, why would you sit on it instead of contacting them asap so they are not snapped up by another agency? It should be assessed on rolling basis unless HR is so super busy with so many candidates. If they take their time (which often happens), it that in itself says a lot, which also gives you some insight what it may be like if you get hired.
