Can any seniors provide some insights into working culture and prospects in NCS? Thanks in advance!

How much are you offered?
Work culture dependant on projects, your colleagues etc.
NCS will send you also send you for courses during this 5 years.
I think more importantly is how fast can you get promoted during this 5 years? Since the increment is not high. So many will leave to get a better paying job after 2 years.

I was offered 5k, no 13th month. So I guess work culture really depends on luck? It would be pretty bad to be allocated a project team with poor work culture and be stuck there...
But there will be opportunities to rotate to other teams after maybe a year or two right? Or would it be difficult given some projects can require very different skillsets?

Woah that's a lot compared to ours. Are you an experienced hire with a local U cert?
Yes, you cant choose the projects assigned to you.

Uhh no I’m graduating next year from NTU. Perhaps they look at the class of honours too?
Are the increments in NCS really bad? Doesn’t seem right that they’re offering fresh grads more than experienced seniors.
I’ve seen Glassdoor reviews where they say the company cares more about attracting fresh grads to the company than retaining existing employees. Are existing employees not valued by the company?

Perhaps, I not sure how HR actually does the tabulation. I believe your degree is com science to get that offer?
Yes they are paying more under nucleus program.
Increment 1-3% depends on your performance appraisal.
Sorry to say that’s true, the company doesn’t do any salary adjustment to bridge the gap. So longer your stay, the newer batch in few years time gets more than you, rinse and repeat. Thus, people leave. Am sure it’s happening not just in NCS per say. Hmm that’s a really good question, am sure there are some who are “valued” but most of course not.

Uhm not com sci but materials engineering, though I do have coding experience.
I guess if I do want to stay to get the Masters then I should be prepared to receive sad increment…
Also, thanks so much for sharing! Really appreciate it

I think as a fresh grad, learning and garnering experience is also important than just looking at increments alone. I think 5k for a start is already pretty decent, not sure if you are the outlier there. most of us are getting low 4s. You are free to leave within 5 years too.

Local NTU fresh grad, joined ncs abt 5 year ago. Current post is senior analyst getting around 5k. Pay getting stagnant. Junior fresh grad all getting 4-4.5 but still expect me to babysit and carry them while managing multiple client. Boss lead throws smoke and just anyhow delegate work to us. Don’t even have time to attend courses and self improvement. Time to move on ???

The guy previously posted will be getting 5k when he/she joins. hmmmm
Seems like you’re assigned more work than you can manage because you are capable.
Unfortunate that You probably didn’t get much baby sitting when you first joined,
Well that sucks. If you feel that a promotion is coming for you soon then stay, get promoted then leave. Else just start looking out.
