Default Civil servants year end bonus

Hi, is anyone from IMDA familiar with how the bonus system works? Will IMDA staff be receiving the 0.6 bonus for civil servants?

I've been told that we won't and I don't understand how and why.

IMDA has a separate compensation system. They don't follow the ministries and most stat board. You won't get mid year and end year avc. Instead, you will get a separate component called the corporate bonus somewhere in May.

If you work at IMDA, you'd already have gotten a full month in your account this week. This is pretty constant.

There's another set of bonuses in May - corporate plus performance. Ranges between 2 to 5 months depending on how you were benchmarked against peers.

IMDA has a lower base but higher annual package than many agencies. Whether this is worth it depends on what you're looking for and where ou go. Many comments in this forum are true - too much politics and "sisters" plus baseline is extremely low.

One thing IMDA staff could take small comfort from (have read the posts on this forum extensively and my sympathies are with you) is that IMDA's pay structure is better than than that of the civil service - for example, take an assistant director (AD) at IMDA compared with an AD in MCI, IMDA's 'parent' ministry - the IMDA AD receives up to 20% more than the MCI AD, and is essentially a ministry deputy-director equivalent in terms of pay and responsibilities.

Have heard this from a few sources, but if this is inaccurate would be happy to stand corrected.

Ministry staff are mostly on the generic MX scheme. Stat board can pay higher, in order to hire for tech competency.

All ministries AD are junior post, cannot compare to a stat board AD who usually has more yrs of exp. In this case, stat board AD sure higher pay. So if you want to compare, compare an apple with an apple instead.

If I may correct, there are many useless ADs in IMDA. See HR for example - Im sure these ADs are not DD equivalent in Ministries
