Jen, I hope you are speaking from personal experience, because according to the MOM survey, the mean basic monthly pay for an optometrist is $2,754. Even at the 75th-percentile, it's only $2,784.
But, since only 62 optometrists were surveyed, we can still argue that the survey data may not be representative. Or perhaps, optometrists' commissions are really very good.
