I would advise against joining the O&G industry now as times are really bad. If you still die die want to try you luck, then don't settle for anything less than 4.4k. Reason being that it is extremely unlikely you will be able to get any bonus for the next few years, so basic is all you will have.
If you go in average like the other industries, you will end up much lower than even civil service which runs on 3.5-4k x 16 months package.
