it's called 崇洋媚外 which means: have a servile attitude to foreign things.

foreigners reading this, please continue to take advantage of this while you can.

the FT policy in Singapore was a huge concerted effort started many years back. remember all the foreign CEOs hired to run our biggest companies including DBS, OCBC, NOL, etc? (though DBS hinted an about turn recently when peter seah said the next ceo "should preferably be from within the bank, somebody home-grown within the bank.")

at one point even Temasek Holdings got an ang moh CEO elect. if FT are so good, i think parliament should one day also have a few ang mohs to teach us a thing or two about running a country.
