Question 1
From MX12 to MX11, promotion increment is $250 while merit increment (grade A) is $450+.
Does anyone know why promotion increment is so little? I am surprised because promotion is so rare in civil service.

Question 2
Anyway to guage my own CEP based on current progression and merit increment?
I understand that CEP does not mean that I will definitely reach them in my career.
I am curious because I am recently invited to a career development discussion with senior management.

Count yourself lucky with high starting pay and large increments year on year. Your Ministry still have vacancies at middle to top tiers, hence they are probably grooming ppl to go up quick. If you are in a ministry that is starting to saturated. You won't move as fast.

Promotion Increment is a fixed sum. MX 12 to MX 11 is 250. MX 11 to MX 10 is XXX dollars. The other component is the MI. It is linked to your CEP, your latest performance grade and the overall economy. Overtime if you notice that within the same grade, same PB year on year but MI went up, very likely your CEP creeped up. Don't think so much. Contribute to your nation and your fellow SG folks bah.
