AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh god the brainwashing.
Firms don't train you to be good lawyers, individual bosses and teams do. There are good teams in both FLAs and B4s (and very **** teams in both as well).. ask for individual reviews, don't broad-brush ask "is this firm better"?
Broad-brush wise, most bigger firms (regardless of FLA or b4) you're doing grunt work the first few years.. you don't get to do anything important till you're senior so the chance of screwing up is lower.. additionally since teams tend to be bigger more chance your screw up is caught or can be swept under the rug before **** hits the fan.
Smaller firms require you to get your hands dirty sooner, which generally also means less supervision coz of manpower, so you get more exp faster but you also may develop bad habits if nobody corrects you (which is why the team is impt).
