Harsh truths are tough to swallow. The legal industry is a very small circle and having the right connections will make a huge difference to your career trajectory. If you're from a lower middle income family, first generation lawyer, or worse first generation degree holder, then be ready to work your ass off and prove yourself a useful and loyal slave while continuing to think autonomously and plan your next move quietly. If you can do that you'll survive well enough.
