I am saying this because the people who hated me and blocked me from residency for no reason got it worse, e.g daughter passed away young from a terrible disease.

In the end I take it as a blessing in disguise that I do not have to stay in a toxic environment.
I think it depends on which specialty? I think certain surgical speciality tends to take older residents (e.g orthopaedic) very few pgy2 or 3 get in. Usually is pgy4 and above
