Interestingly (may or may not be to others), my initial plan wasn’t to return to Singapore. However, after considering recent pay increases, having a long-term partner here, and the fact that we got a BTO flat after the pay increase, I decided to come back. Somemore, as another user mentioned, specialising in Australia is more challenging compared to Singapore, and with the NHS's situation declining, returning to Singapore seemed like the best decision.

My parents also had YOYO opinions about supporting my studies abroad, which I did say i am okay not studying overseas. Even though they initially said they could help, they later "suggested" I take out a loan, which I understand and am grateful for the fact they supported me thus far. This means I need to adjust my salary expectations to accommodate this, especially with the upcoming BTO payment and a significant loan to repay, along with wedding expenses.
