Paywise for a fresh grad(nitec vs poly), annually it will be around 40k for nitec and 45k for poly on average exclusive of overtime pay. As u work longer and rise to senior tech/supervisor posts, annual pay of 100k+ is actually quite common.
Shiftwork is compulsory as the plant runs for 24hrs/day so be prepared to sacrifice your sleep and weekends for ur job. Think abt how your lifestyle will be like once u are part of the shift system and decide for yourself if this is the kind of life u want.
Personally I wouldnt encourage pple to work as a pt due to the hazardous environment u face all the time and the irregular sleeping patterns u have to go through plus the precious family time u sacrifice on weekends.

I have just started work as an Ops Tech for abt 3 weeks... From what I gathered, this is indeed an accurate description of the job.. However, there are avenues for tech to shift into trainer, safety officer and many other various roles so not necessarily have to be in shift throughout the entire career. However, shift system does have it advantages also, it's largely dependent on your lifestyle.
