On the other hand, i dare say vast majority of my malaysian employees are hardworking, don't complain as much and is ready to work extra hours even during weekend. That's why I am inclined to pay them more and promote them faster. They are also more innovative, don't tell me 10001 reason why something cannot be done and give solutions around it. Ultimately our goals are similar i.e. make the company profitable, grow the company defend it against competitor and share the profits.
Remember, companies pay for value. They don't pay you to maintain your living cost. That's on you to manage yourself. Salary offered and cost of living is mutually exclusive. I think having too much protectionist policies will only hamper businesses and destroy the country.

There’s where you are wrong. JHK complain and eat snake just as much as Locals. But they can say they earn less so they should do less. Everytime I see one JHK relaxing one corner, I sure go and complain to make sure he gets it.
