Ignore what people are saying. As someone who's applied to firms in the UK, yes big four or other internships in Singapore are useful in getting vac schemes/
tcs in the UK- but what matters more is your application, articulation, genuine interest in business and commercial law, and willingness to participate in open days or firms events. Also, you need to be able to sell yourself well as someone who is ambitious, a great team player, and someone who can work and be friends with people of all cultures. They also value entrepreneurship and things like running a society or doing commercial awareness competitions.
