SMRT depots have a lot of Merc, BMW and Porsche parking in the car park but we all know that's the retirement ground for generals. 90% are just farmers who can barely make do esp if they have a family to feed.
Also, if you factor in PB, MYB, YEB and various incentives i'm very sure it's very doable across the industries to average out close to 9-10k/mth in their 40s, it doesn't mean
LTA pays particularly well.
Polytechnic lecturers are also earning the same amount if you look at their annual packages, which have arguably less stressful workload and good WLB compared to min/SB.
