Both have a point.. If you look at
SGX listed companies' annual report, you can see a lot of C-suite in local listed companies earning $350-500k with the top guy earning $750l-1m.
Next are the GLCs whose C-suite are around $1-2m range with the top guy in the $4-5m range.
Of course this is in general because there are local banks on a another level and those family-owned companies (eg Genting) that pays their Chairman a shitload of money.
You cannot compare this to lawyers, hedge fund traders, investment bankers and even software engineers... heck, even the top property agent can earn $1m in comms in a year.
The difference is longevity in the job.. can you maintain the high stress level and endless targets until you are 67?
