(prev poster) I think it's possible to get into IB if you begin grinding in uni year 1. Not that it's not brutally difficult, and if you're not in the target clubs kinda SOL, but strictly speaking this is a possible situation.
I don't think anyone can begin thinking "quant is fun" in uni year 1 and make it into top quant shops.
