depends on what is the senior role. if its Senior manager, you can try for around 6k+ if your skills/exp is relevant to what they are looking for.
if they are asking you to be assistant director (1 higher than senior manager), you can ask for higher.
btw, its my 2 cents and not to be taken as straight facts as i do not really know how renumeration works in
MINDEF.
