Medical opinion is only part of the equation as with all public policies.
Which is obviously why the ultimate decision should not be made by doctors (but in consultation with doctors).
Obviously as doctors we want zero deaths and preservation of ICU capacity all costs.
But as a society there is much more to consider than just preserving lives at all costs versus the overall social impact on society, and the various other downstream repercussions such as mental health, socioeconomic consequences etc.
