Instead of purely looking at a role based on sector, you could also make your project decision based on the type of role that you are interested in? Examples could be doing PMO/Functional/Build/Test/Security related roles in a project. Try working with HR and the project interviewers to get a deeper understanding of the role you are interviewing for, as well as skills needed for projects in the banking/finance sector. You could use the time in this project to gain useful skillsets for your next project
