But my observation is that, once you are in a decently popular specialty, you can easily make over 1m a year at 40, no?

Let's say ENT/derm/cardiology, even if you don't do procedures very often, the consultation plus med is easily 200 SGD for every 15-20min. It is not uncommon to have doctors seeing 20+ patients a day. This is already 100k SGD, salary for an admin and nurse plus rent aren't that expensive, plus some doctors share with another when they start their practice. If you have do a few procedures every week, the number should easily double I guess?

Even for the less sexy specialty such as psychiatry or neurology, it is not that difficult to have 20 patients a day, just you need to stay in public hospital longer. Instead of leaving once you are a fellow, you better stay till you are senior consultant or at least having some titles like clinical assistant professor etc.

Is my logic wrong? I have seen quite many different specialists and everytime I am not the only patient even it is on a weekday.
Ya man. You are totally correct.
You setup a private clinic at novenna center as a cardiologist u gonna have pple queueing outside your door all waiting to pay u 200 to 400 to see you. Easily see 50 patients a day. That's 20k earnings a day Liao

I wonder why all the idiotic specialist still stay in hospital. Oh wait it's cos they took an oath to save human lives!

Come on la. Use some brains ok.
If you are dumb it's better to keep quiet than to talk and erase all doubts.
