Yes the process for fresh grads is more stringent. I believe it may be bc when applying as a mid career for a specific role, you're competing with mostly internal transfers. That's why experience matters. But all fresh grads also happen to be similar in calibre (similar GPA, internship, but no full time experience), so what differentiates them is the interview.
Afaik, only scholars get more exposure but they don't get redesignated faster. Still have to serve the 3 years as Associate first. But they have higher potential, meaning one day they can become division heads and above.
