If so, a job applicant must take into consideration this when comparing with another job that does pay 13th month. Assuming 2nd upper applying for GTP - 4100 x 12 / 13 = 3785. So you are only being paid $3785 if you do get 13th month. I believe this is a smart marketing ploy, because 4k is a big psychological milestone. By putting 13th month into base salary, HR can raise a salary that's not even 3.8k past the 4k mark. Local banks give low variable bonuses too so that must be accounted for as well.
